History

The Fountain

The Wilson quad, at the time of the school's founding in 1926, housed a fountain with running water and live fish living in its base. A group of students founded an art and literary magazine, named La Fuente for the iconic fountain, to showcase Bruins' artwork and writing.

Discontinued

A group of students poisoned the fountain with soap, killing the fish inside. The fountain was removed, and the magazine disbanded. Later, Wilson alumni donated a new, waterless fountain, which stands in the quad today.

Re-founded

We discovered the fountain's history through Wilson's Link Crew program and jumped at the chance to bring new life to a Wilson tradition. We re-founded La Fuente under its same name, this time as an online magazine, and are excited to bring Wilson students' creative work back into the spotlight.

Featured Artist - Daniel Arellano

Daniel Arellano is a junior in the LPS pathway. He likes writing in his free time, whether it be poetry, essays, or short stories, although he isn't fully ready to submit those just yet. You can find his haiku in Issue 1.
